IHAVEANIDEA - Advertising's Intellectual Archive
Really nice site for advertising and marketing types (and even photographer types). Interviews with agency creatives, advertising
history, articles, a forum and more.
Strategy Magazine
"The Canadian Marketing Report." Published every two weeks, this magazine covers the marketing and
advertising business in Canada.
Marketing Magazine

A good resource for the marketing or advertising person.

Lovemarks: The future beyond brands
Lovemarks is a somewhat controversial look at brands which have moved beyond mere trademarks to become inspirational;
brands that have created an emotional bond with the consumer. Based on the book "Lovemarks" by Kevin Roberts, CEO
Worldwide of Saatchi & Saatchi. Roberts sees lovemarks as the natural evolution of the brand. From the website:
"Lovemarks reach your heart as well as your mind, creating an intimate, emotional connection that you just can't live without. Ever."
brandchannel.com
"The world's only online exchange about branding, produced by Interbrand." One of the best online branding
resources I've seen. You can download free papers, read book reviews (about branding books of course), search for
a job and more. brandchannel.com was created by Interbrand, a
branding consultancy with offices worldwide.
Target Marketing
An online and print magazine for direct marketing and direct response media. "How-to" advice on mailing lists,
using databases, upselling, cross-selling and more. Look at the "Communities" menu for free articles.
Show Studio
Show studio was started by a group of fashion designers from London in 2000 as a showcase to document the
creative process. Check out the project archive.
Fashion File
Fashion file is a show on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) network exploring the world of fashion.
Background info on fashion designers, models and collections through text, images and video clips.
Although it focuses primarily on fashion, this site will be of interest to people involved in marketing and
advertising of non-fashion items as well.
Fashion Television
From its start in 1985 Fashion Television has looked at fashion, art, style and photography. A bit more upbeat
then its rival Fashion File (see previous entry), Fashion Television airs on both CityTV and the Fashion Channel.
Advertising and the Mind of the Consumer
A site by marketing psychologist Max Sutherland, consultant and author of the book "Advertising and the Mind of
the Consumer". How advertising work, how to create more effective advertising. News relevant to marketing psychology.
The Lefsetz Letter
I first heard about this newsletter watching an interview
with Bob Lefsetz on CBC's The Hour with George Stroumboulopoulos (aired March 13, 2007). Mr. Lefsetz publishes an online newsletter
about the music industry. His views as an industry insider (he's an entertainment business attorney and consultant) are entertaining and sometimes
controversial (example: see "Why
CD Sales Are Tanking").
Pitchfork Media
Pitchfork features comprehensive reviews of new musicians. New reviews are constantly being added, unique style.
Need inspiration? New music? Check out Pitchfork.
